We can certainly do this. I was thinking that this type of post might fit in the Non Guzzi chat section but maybe a dedicated area is the way to go. We'd probably need to prune it regularly to remove old rides and keep it current, but that's no problem.

What does everyone think, do you want this? All opinions welcome.

BTW, what do we call it? Stray Rides? Anyone with suggestions post them up.

I like the idea, as I'm down in Brissy every couple of weeks, gives me a chance to plan ahead.

That'd be a great idea.....often think it would be good to have a semi-formal meeting-place somewhere.

In a former, pre-internet life, a club I was in always met at a centrally located cafe on Sat morns, (we had a ride every Sunday, if we weren't off camping somewhere) for those with nothing better to do (although, I guess there is nothing better than hanging out with motorcycling friends talking bikes etc, except for actually riding somewhere!)
Admittedly this was Melbourne, and it was a cafe in the famous motorbike section of Elizabeth St, which was a great focal point anyway.
A short, informal ride would often ensue.

I see the local Ulysses Club does this on w'ends at the local McCafe, when they don't have a formal ride organised, and anyone looking for someone to ride with knows they'll be there.

The Forum could be our "Meeting Place", and a few suitable, regular, well known meeting/starting points, with coffee, as close to town as possible, depending on which way we were headed, would be good.

Great idea swagzz.

Names?? Yeah.....Stray Rides, Casual Rides, Let's Meet, Ride Anyone, On Yer Bike, Let's Go?

I'd love to wake up on a morning like today, log-in, and be able to join in an informal ride. Saturdays would be good for me a lot of the time as well.

If you happen to be in Mackay the shell garage on the north side of town with Hungry Jacks usually have a group going for a ride on sunday mornings. 8 am in summer. 9am in winter.

Stray Rides :) sounds good
Later swagzz

Great idea!

It's interesting to watch these groups evolve. One group I losely associated myself with in NSW did the same thing, in this instance it was most Sunday mornings. The come one, come all idea worked well.

Can I take shady (Shadow, my first born) on these rides too?

Btw, 'Stray Rides' sounds ok to me.
