Talking to folk on the day ride yesterday it turned out nobody had heard about the latest Guzzi woe, the self-destructing 8v engine. i was a bit surprised as the online Guzzi community is buzzing with it. Rather than try to post all the info here I'm going to take the lazy option and just put some links here.

These links come from the CARC section of the V11 LeMans Forum where I am also a member. I'm sure nobody will mind me linking direct to these. If you are into the V11 and you are not a member there, you should be. It really is a top source of info.

Keeping track of the 8v issue (an overview with official Guzzi documents and links to more info)

8v Recall Pt 1 (A long thread, and ever growing. Lots of info, check post #63 for pics of damaged parts, scary stuff)

8v Recall Pt 2 (the saga continues)

I'm sure the 8v engine will be a grwat thing when it is properly sorted, sadly this current debacle will not do much for the brands image. Lets hope they actually stay in business. Reckon I'll stick with my old fashioned 2v heads for a while to come. It's not like I am the type of super fast rider who really needs more power anyway
