Welcome all,
This is the official home of The Cali Gang.
We hope to keep this very laid back, casual, so to speak.
Please keep comments to personal opinions, as we don't want to upset anybody.
Ok enough of the legal obligations.

G'Day, this is a page for Cali owners by Cali owners, to become a member of The Cali Gang, it only take one requirement. Own a Cali, we don't care what model, 850T3 through to all the current beautiful Cali's, if it came out of the factory designated a California then you can count yourself as one of us.
If you don't own a Cali, then welcome anyway, maybe one day you will see the light & join us.
This is not a new club, we are supported by the MGCoQ, members can live anywhere in the world & be a member of any club (or not for that matter), it is just a way for like minded individuals to chat, hopefully meet, exchange hints, tips, etc.

Hopefully at some stage down the track, I hope to get Cali Gang shirts made, I am not doing this to make money, but if I can put up the start up money & get shirts made, Cali Gang members shall be able to purchase them & wear them to events, advising others that you are a person of very good taste & alerting other Cali Gang members that you are also a member.

Myself & Greg (co-founder of The Cali Gang) hope you enjoy this page & find it amusing, informing & somewhat useful.

I saw this lovely thing parked outside the garage of the house I have just moved into, must say this is the prettiest thing that I have ever seen.

Yes it is my Cali III sidecar outfit,

Aw, how sweet, almost makes me want to go out and buy a Cali, just so I can belong.

N.B. I said "almost".

(Great idea, tho. Can't wait to see the shirts).

Hairee,
Maybe we could make shirts with a Breva on the front & "When I grow up I want to be a Cali" on the back.
Ah each to their own, I like my armchair, though I don't think I would ever buy a Norge (can't afford the public liability insurance for the auto-detaching topbox, that kills the rider behind you, sorry Mark had to stick the knife in on that one), but for me personally if they could make a Norge that had the style of a Cali (semi-naked Norge I guess) then I would consider one, but then it wouldn't be a Norge would it, so guess I'm waffling.
Going now before I get syrup on me waffle.

Dear Wal,
Being a Cali owner, I was immediately drawn to your posting. Mine is an 04 model, although it has only been mine since 06. If any Cali owners want to talk about mechanical and cosmetic maintainence then they will have my rapt attention. The publications that I have been silly enough to buy, only tell me What to do but not how. With my being a mechanical bunny, this only gets me into trouble quick, although I have wised-up a bit lately and don't attempt anything at all, espcially by myself.
Cleaning and polishing is something I find pretty therapeutic and my last effort took five days. I can do this because I am retired, so time is no problem. I do make sure though that it all takes place when it's raining so no nice weather is wasted.
Look forward to hearing about Calis.

Hi Bill,
I must say, that's the first time anyone has addressed me as 'dear', it's usually something a little more blue than that.
What sort of maintenance where you referring to?
Most of us whom don't do all of our own bits, usually enlist the services of our own Tom (a club member), the Newells have been Guzzi dealers for a very long time (the business was started by Tom's father Don).
When he isn't too busy, he can be persuaded to watch over you while you do your own maintenance, giving hints & tips.
As more Cali owners visit the page the more feedback we will get, giving specific tips & advice to Cali's.
Feel free to post a picture of your Cali here, a bit of a readers rides thingy.
Remember either avoid showing your rego plate or edit it out, also be aware of the background, we do not wish anybodies pride & joy being stolen.

Ok guys, back over to you.
Look forward to seeing other beautiful Cali photos here.
Happy riding & California Dreaming.

G'day Wal
No familiarity whatsoever was implied in my previous salutation and I won't do it again. It's amazing the habits you get into over the years without even thinking about it.
The speed of your reply was pretty amazing. Better things to do than hunch down in front of the tele, like us old folks, eh?
Tom is very good. I send him emails with lots of curly questions and he helps me, heaps. I wish I had taken my bike to him when the speedo cable needed replacing. It is a bigger pig of a job than re-installing the windscreen/fairing by yourself. My bike is quite OK now in spite of previous deeply unhappy experiences. In fact, on a brighter note, I can even remove the tank without having to cut through the EFI hose. Hallelujah!
Look forward to hearing more about the Cali Gang t-shirt, too. There are two Guzzi shirts in my wardrobe at present and one more won't hurt. I wore one last night to the hospital where my partner's daughter had here baby last Tuesday. I held the newborn against the logo so that he would imprint on it. It was the best I could do in the circumstances.

Great news Bill, congratulations I know how proud you must be.
Luckily I am still not a grandad (my 22 y.o son appears to be more interested in racing these days), as it would make one feel older than one already is (NOT). Yeah you are right, I do not watch a lot of television, doesn't really interest me all that much, though I always get a chuckle out of Ramsey ( the poli's discussed him in parliament & I heard him asked what he thought, I must say I was disappointed in his answer or it was heavily edited. LOL).
It's good that you're starting to influence the little tiger early on the principles of a Guzzisti, maybe we should all pitch in & get him some Cali badges for his stroller, so when he travels he does so in proper style (ya wouldn't want him to grow up & buy a V7 {Hi Al} or god forbid, a Breva {Hi Hairee}).
Anyways it's early, I've forgotten why I was posting other than say congratulations, & I have to be off to the salt mine.
Stay safe & California Dreaming.
