Hey, I'm new to guzzi and to save myself a lot of wasted time on the net while i could be out riding my bike surely there must be someone with much knowledge about fairings for the big breva !

My questions.
Is there an aftermarket fairing worth considering?
I think there may only be one type/model of genuine guzzi fairing for the Breva, is this correct?
Is the genuine guzzi fairing effective in your opinion?

Any feedback at all greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Talk to Tom, hopefully you bought your bike from him, if not he'll be the guy you'll be taking your bike to &/or getting your parts from.

Who's Tom?
Tom is a MGCoQ life-member & owns/runs Don Newells Moto Guzzi at Deshon St. Buranda, yeah I know that the suburb is supposedly wrong but can you honestly call where Tom's shop is, the Gabba.

Last time I went riding with an 1100 Breva owner, he had removed the screen because he had a pillion with him, and the screen caused problems (turbulence I guess).
No probs with the screen when riding solo tho he said.

Are you talking screens, or full fairings a la Norge?

swagzz, a regular here, might see this, and tell you his experience with the screen on his Griso.

I have the small "fly screen" that used to come standard, on my 750. It causes tubulence at highway speed......stand up, or crouch down behind it, and it's nice and quiet.
Come to think of it, we have another 1100 Breva owner we see at Club meetings from time to time.....he made the same comment about the screen on his.

Doesn't sound too promising, does it.....? But I'd suggest coming along to a club meeting or ride, to speak to others in person.

I've come to the conclusion, a naked bike is a naked bike, and should stay that way, but I put up with a little annoyance from my screen, as it keeps the bugs out of the instruments!

Hopefully someone else will spot your post and provide more meaningful advice......and if somebody does know a source of good, bolt-on screens/fairings that work for Guzzis, I'm interested as well!

I see Wal has posted since I started typing.....yep, Tom's the man for advice as well!
Don't ask Wal......he wouldn't know about fairings on Guzzis....he wouldn't go fast enough on his old-man's-bike-Cali for turbulence to be an issue.
Oh no, why did I say that.....?
I'll leave it in though, despite the likelihood of threats of being banned, or comments about riding a girl's bike.....swagzz, I need back up here!!!!

check the screen on wals sidecar
I have the screen on the Griso because it looks cool , keeps the bugs off the instruments
deflects most of the wind off me because I'm getting soft in my old age.
And it is really effective for such a small screen as it is adjustable too.

And as you know Hairee the biggest barge creates the most turbulence.

You failed to mention, swagzz, that you posted some pics of the Griso screen, that guzzy can view, under "Just Pictures".

Hey,

Tom put me onto Geelong Carbon Craft,'ve been looking for a replacement front guard & rear hugger for the Corsa. After trawling the web for what seems like months & only finding cheap fibreglass s*%t in US & Europe, they have exactly what I'm after & are just down the road on the Gold Coast (moved up from Geelong a few years back).
website is: http://www.geelongcarboncraft.com.au/

They have a really nice looking aftermarket screen for the Grisso (nothing on the Breva on the web), though from their blurb would be able to make up something pretty sexy in carbon - prices appear reasonable for carbon work.
They also look to have a beautiful tank protector for $139 for the Breva. Looks a heap better than the stick on fake one's you see round the traps.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the new bike.
