Hello again gals and guys,

:guzzi:

All volunteers required for the 2009 MGCOQ Gayndah Gallivant tentatively booked for August sat 22 sun 23. could be early, definitely won't be later.

:band: :partytime: :givemebeer:

Need to know tentative attendees list to start booking accommodation in Gayndah. Am looking at the hotels or if anyone has a suggestion?

Think about it and provide me with an answer at the next club meeting if possible.

:thumb:

:aus_flag:

any takers?

Gayndah has 3 pubs and 2 motor inns all within walking distance of each other, so accomodation shouldnt be a problem.I'd be interested in tackling the big 80km ride from home for a few beers, put me down for it.

Giday Crump,

:guzzi:

Duly noted.

So far, these has been a change to the accomodation side, there is now the offer of a roof over own heads (swag/sleeping bag/where you fall) at a private abode a few k's outside of town.

Tentative plan - Dinner in town, fun outside of town

:band:

There is the making of a dedicated driver with mass transport plan :drink: , more to come on this front.

:aus_flag:

regards

Hi spoon

After finding where Gayndah is, I'm in. I reckon it should be a good ride weekend and the offer of a roof sounds even better. That is after I've cut umbilical cord between me and the hairdryer.

I love those roads around there, if I'm not working I may bring Masso out for a blast, in fact even if I am working I might come afterwards & really open it up.

Hi Gallivanters,

:guzzi:

and those who will soon join us

:satanic:

I am gauging interest in your desire to own a commerative T shirt as a reminder of Gayndah Gallivant things past .

I have an idea to produce a run of t- shirts limited to the number of participants and numbered accordingly,
for example

Number 1 of 15

Colour will be a gayndah yellow/orange with the following graphics:
front;
will be Moto Guzzi Red Corporate logo with some text below, a phrase I plagarised from our club year book.

rear;
a large centre graphic representing something of the journey to gayndah and hopefully return,
with a bit of surrounding text,
top of graphic - gayndah gallivant.
below graphic - moto guzzi club of queensland, august 2009.
25th year anniversary. Number 1 of 15

All text black

These T Shirts would be available for the cost of production only, final dollar cost per unit has not been finalised as yet, but if I was a gambling man I would be guessing at around the $15 to $30 range?

Let me know what your thoughts are.

SpooN,
I just got the quotes back from the printers for the club 25th anniversary t-shirts, it'll be raised at the AGM on Wed night, I think that you'll find that $30 might not be enough with the multiple colours & setup fee, I can contact the guy the club uses for all it's regalia for you & get a quote.
Let me know on Wed night at the AGM.

P.S. If you haven't paid your membership renewal before the start of the vote then you are not entitled to have your say in the next committee.

See you all there at the AGM, it's everybody's club so come along & have some input, we still have no nominations for any committee positions as yet, so have a think about whom you want running your club or throw your hat in the ring if you'd like to help, we won't just leave you floundering about what to do, there are more than enough ex-committee members more than willing to offer help or guidance.

Hello all Gayndah Gallivant attendees,

:drinking-3:

The original accomadation plan has not been succesful.

:censor:

The next plan is:

:thumb:

I have made a tentative booking for 10 people at the Burnett Hotel, Gayndah, for Sat night 22 Aug.
Accomadation is 2 rooms with 4 double bunks each and a single double room (thats me and my better half).

Cost is $30 per person per night.

:drink:

I need confirmation ASAP for all those attending. Definitely by this sunday.

:thankyou:

:guzzi:

Hey Spoon, disappointed to see that the Gayndah Gallivant has been cancelled - what happened?
My counterweight and I were looking forward to a nice ride in the country.
Hope you're well.
Cheers to all.

Hi Alfredvk,

There were no definite responses recieved.
I did not want to have a hotel booking for 10 waiting until friday night to cancel.

Thanks for your interest.

SpooN,
This can be a problem when organising something like this, you gave everybody ample notice, when/or if you decide to have another crack at it, try to get a small deposit out of those indicating that they'll go, book only as many rooms as you have deposits, if more attend they can try to arrange their own accommodation.
I know this sounds particularly harsh but people seem to forget that amount of planning that goes into something like this & want to make last minute decisions of whether they'll go or not, this is not very helpful when you are trying to organise a run.

If anyone is interested in doing a run to Gayndah, post on this thread, when we have a few firm attendees we can bash out a date (hey it may be next year but SpooN is trying to organise a run & let's get behind him), if you have friends that may like to go then ask them & say so for them or get them to join the forum & speak up for themselves.
