Hi Would people like to suggest a rally top ten, of music tracks they would like to hear on the saturday night at the rally.a party tape that you think would get people moving or what ever else comes to mind .Once we have a few sugestions members could vote for their favourit list and I could put them together and play it on the night. This is suggested as a bit of fun and to get some thing going on the forum.

I love this idea. However being a music fanatic limiting myself to ten tracks was tough. I decided I needed a system. I'm a total 80's tragic so my list is all from that era. I still could not get down to just ten tracks. So, it is now 80's Australian music only (it was still hard to choose just ten). I've gone for the stuff that is less well remembered these days but it is all good. BTW, I can provide heaps of music if needed, MP3 discs are my speciality, but normal CDs are no problem. My computer has lots of music just ready to be burnt and taken to the Budgie if required.

THE LIST

The Triffids - Wide Open Road
The Angels - We Gotta Get Out Of This Place
V Spy V Spy - Don't Tear It Down
The Black Sorrows - Chained To The Wheel
Redgum - I've Been To Bali Too
Moving Pictures - Bustin' Loose
Men At Work - Be Good Johnny
Do-Re-Mi - Man Overboard
Big Pig - Hungry Town
Boom Crash Opera - Great Wall

Wot about.......?

1952 Vincent Black Lightning:- Richard Thompson

My VFR:- Damon John Wade

Little Honda:- Beachboys

Kawasaki Z11 750 Rock'n'Roll:- Guitar Wolf

Motorcycle:- Love & Rockets

War of the Superbikes:- The Meatmen

Ghost Rider:- Rush

Speeding Motorcycle:- Daniel Johnston

The Motorcycle Song:- Arlo Guthrie

Motorcycle Mama:- Neil Young

Lerv the Vincent Black Lightning song, and of course Arlo Guthrie, especially explanation of reason for enthusiasm. Some of 'em are there simply because of their motorcycle themes, but they're all worth a play......someone'll like 'em I'm sure.
Of course there's heaps more, but as Mark said, how to keep to 10....?

Okay here is mine, if anybody knows more than half of them then you're either a music buff or you need to get out more.

BTW- Robin I think that you'll find that the Specials song is 'too much too young' , but if you like them you'd probably know & it was probably a typo, if so sorry brother.

My Collie is not a dog.............- the Selecter
Maggie Mae...........................- the Pie Tasters
You don't know I....................- the Slackers
The tide is high......................- the Paragons
Wolly Bully............................- Bad Manners
Samantha Clench, Private Eye.- Skapone
Up with the cock.....................- Judge Dread
Hope I never lose my wallet....- the Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Tainted Love..........................- the Living End
Down Under...........................- Malpunktion

That list would have the locals crying about their achy breaky heart,
Hohoho, oops ya not allowed to say that no more.

Hi Wal
Wow Wal I am impressed,an obscure ska based top ten ,but I am afraid your wrong,I think i'm a bit of a music buff and I definatly need to get out more and I knew less than half of them. You are righ about the Specials title but in the words of Spike Milligan"please ignore the spelling, as I have."
With the no country rule, I was just concerned about stressing people out if they tried to think of more than one or two.

You mean:
Spike Mulligan, that well known typing error!

Oh yeah, meant to add: I'm not intimidated by you music buffs......I'll stick to my motorcycle themed 10.
I googled some of the stuff suggested by others, and all I can think of to say is, "Wal, you are definitely a worry!"
But I think we knew that.
Mind you, I wouldn't want people to think I'm a fan of the likes of The Meatmen, just because I proposed War of the Superbikes!
