Great bike, very underrated IMO. I guess if one were owned by a girl that particular bike would be a girls bike, wouldn't it?

Yes Mark, I guess it would be a girl's bike, and if one is owned by an old f--t, then it would also be an old f--t's bike!

I guess I should make time to post some serious comments about the 750....who knows, someone might actually be interested....they should be!

In truth I suppose I'd love a 1200 Sport, or a Norge, or maybe a Griso if it had a bigger tank, or a.....well you know how it is.....the list goes on, but taking purchase price, fuel economy, touring range, comfort and general ride-ability & overall performance into consideration, the 750 Breva is great!

More comments when time permits.......if anyone's interested.

Ok, time to weigh in with some facts & figures, I am using quoted figures from Guzzi themselves, so there would be a few minor differences from bike to bike, with tuning ,accessories fitted, etc.
Both set of figures are for the current 2008 model 1100 & 750 Brevas:

So about 0.1hp/Kg or about 1/3 less power to weight, but the 750 is nearly 50kg lighter.

Would you notice it on the road ?
Unless 2 lovely people were prepared to lend me their 1100 & 750 Breva's for a test thrash (oops, careful side by side comparo), except for outright top speed (and none of us would know exactly how fast our bikes will go as you would have to break the law to find out, we wouldn't ever think of doing that, would we?), I imagine with the smaller size & bigger brakes the 750 would feel more nimble & a little quicker in most situations.

Would I buy a 750 in preference to the 1100, if I was in the market?

Sorry guys, probably not. I am a horsepower whore, though I would testride the 750, as you can always get some bolt-on go-fast bits down the track & build the 750 into an 1100 eater, so the smaller more nimble 750 maybe a better option.


Enough of the fence-sitting, I'm getting splinters in my bottom.

I think you are on the money with your comments, and yes there's no substitute for a good old-fashioned fist-full of grunt, but value for money and smiles per dollar, I love my 750!
The poll question was prompted by my annoyance at reading all the roadtests and the comments that the 750 is a good lady's bike, good newbie's bike (would you put a newbie on a 750?), good for "returnees", which was me anyway, so I agreed with that one at least.
Some of our lady riders might take exception at the implication they can't ride anything over 750.
For those with duck's disease the optional low seat is an excellent idea, male or female.
I found one pommie road test and the guy raved about the bike....he'd never ridden a Guzzi, and at the end of the article said he wanted one!

I PURCHASED A BREVA FOR MY WIFE, as i thought it would be a good [b]girls bike I liked it so much, i had to buy a second one.
As a big boy i love my girls bike as much as my wife enjoys her girls bike :
