Not sure if this picture is for real. It looks like it is, but I'm no expert. Hopefully we will see the new engine in this bike soon. It would be a good thing I reckon.

A sports bike with a sport engine would be logical.
Might even sell the first born for one.

Found a video of the new 4v Sport on YouTube. Also has a bit of a look at some of the Guzzi factory which I really liked, so many little rooms with dream bikes tucked away in them. Hope you enjoy the video :D

Oh my oh my.
I'm speechless, almost.
Those Pommie road testers are pretty well spot on too, and often don't come out with all that mindless stuff about "engine torque reaction" and "quality control has improved" etc etc.
This guy seems to understand what Guzzi sports bikes are about.
I was interested that he pointed out the change of handlebars over the previous model, and his reasoning for this, & the gain in top end power, at the loss(??) of bottom end power, but said no worries 'cos it has so much grunt anyway.
I think a club run along those tunnels is a must....I bags sitting behind one of "our" Le Mans.
Too many bikes, not enough $'s!!!!
Sob, sob. The mental anguish is palpable.

I was lucky enough to test ride the Sport and a 1200 8V Griso back to back at the Ulysses AGM in May, and I'd go for the Sport with the standard engine any time. The 8V Griso was just way too peaky in its power band whilst the Sport took off like a turbo and just kept on pulling. The subtle slightly rearward movement of the footpegs on the Sport was just where I'd like them on my Breva. Not that I'm against bikes that smack you in the back of the head, as the one I test rode twice was the Aprilia Shiver with a verrry fruity Leo Vince exhaust that encouraged lots of blipping at the lights (well at least I was enjoying myself!!) and went like a rocket....though I wouldn't attempt to ride it from Cairns to Tassie without taking a chiropractor. I reckon that power delivery is just as, if not more, important than the total amount delivered at some theoretical rpm value rarely encountered on the open road.

Your comments are very interesting Brevanutter.
One of our club members criticised the 1200S footpegs, as he does a lot of two-up riding and the pegs were too far back for his liking..... not enough room for pillion's feet?
swagzz (4v griso) might be interested in your view of the 8v vs 4v engine.
I'd wondered if there might be some good deals on the current model 1200, to pick up on, once the 8v 1200 arrives in Oz.
If there was a red 1200S in the garage instead of the 750 Breva, would the missus notice any difference......?

Sorry Hairee, if your missus can count to more than one she might just notice the singlesided swingarm and monoshock on the Breva 1200 rather than two of each on the 750....but if she has no interest in things mechanical you could get away with it as long as they're both red!

Yes, it could be a bit risky.....she's picked up a few clues about bikes over the years, but she'd probably only think that I'd spent money having the screen painted if it was a 1200S.
I don't want to be like a friend of mine.....bought a new bike and kept it in his son's garage for months before he plucked up the courage to take it home! True :!:
