Okay you lot,
Those present at the last club meeting will know that I gave the last of the club stickers to a few members present, so the club now does not have any stickers. The sticker is displayed below the Budgie on the top of the forum page for those that have never noticed it on the rear of most members bikes.
I have approached Frasers Promotions (the guys who do all of our merchandise stuff), they can do the new stickers for us.

We will need to pass this at the next meeting but I'll give you guys the early running so that you can think about it & if you are not going to be present then contact the club (via email, I could give you the Pres' mobile number, I'm sure he'd be plenty pissed at me when he got 20 or so phone calls the afternoon of the next meeting, shite I'm tempted now) & let us know your vote/opinion.

Frasers aren't going to charge us a set up fee (I sent them the PDF file of the club logo), I had thought about putting-
Est. 1984 below the QLD on the sticker.

Either way it is $1.65 per sticker for 500, which is $825, OR
$1.00 per sticker for 1000 which is $1000 (d'errrrrrr).

Ian & I can't just make the appropriate decision, it needs to go to a vote.

I can't remember when we bought stickers last, ex-Pres Marshall & I collected a bunch of club stuff from ex-Sec Griffo & there was a couple of hundred stickers in that stuff, but that was 5 or 6 years ago, I don't really remember stickers being raised at a club meeting in the last 10 years or so but then things were a little different back then, we were somewhat more 'informal', probably because most members didn't care as long as the club wasn't going broke or closing. I have to say I like it the way it is now, meetings run correctly & the club is run a little more 'formal' (yeah I know , I'm using that term quite loosely).

You should all know the club email address (yeah I can't bloody remember it myself, so I'll have to come back in & edit this post)

It's info@motoguzziclubqld.org

The club email address is now correct..

Wal
Do you reckon 1,000 is too many?
Would they deteriorate before they were used?
And would the plan be to sell them to Club Members or give them away to joining members with their badge, or both?
I'd happily pay a couple of dollars each for a couple.
I'll vote in favour, regardless of which quantity we choose......1,000 makes sense for the price, unless it would take too long to use 'em.

I'll take some, but I think rather than "Est 1984" it might be good idea to put the clubs website address. That way if someone spots a sticker on a bike they can check out the clubs site and maybe get involved. Even if they don't remember the address they will know we have a site and Google will do the rest. Mind you we could always have both on there if it didn't clutter it up too much.

After having a sleep on the suggestion that we put the web address on the sticker , I have cooled on the idea, thought it was great off the bat, but (there's always a but)-----

the sticker currently has the club Eagle logo, with Moto Guzzi Club Qld
the web address is motoguzziclubqld.org as you can see it is very close (in fact only missing the .org).

Also (now I haven't done this in quite a while but I'm sure you'll all go check) when you google Moto Guzzi (with the Australian setting) the third suggestion is our club, for many years it was the first if you just open googled, but JSG has paid to get in front of us.

I'm not sure that people have that amount of trouble finding us online, it's not as if our web address is obscure (the joys of going electronic early in the piece), thank's Alan LR.

So I once again chuck this idea out there, what do you guys think? We'll need to act reasonably quickly on this as I'm not sure of the delay between ordering & delivery.

I think the best stickers are those kept as simple as possible.....wouldn't even have "Est 1984".
Most people who are used to using the 'net, will know how to google, and will always find us if they want/need to.....I had no trouble.
If a potential member spots one of our stickers somewhere, they will at least be alerted to the fact that a club exists for owners of our brand of fine motorcycles.

I take your point Wal. I'm easy with either option. Leave them as is and be traditional, or put the EST on there. It's all good, and I'll take some regardless.

Swagzz & others,
We don't sell them, they are available to club members to put on their bikes, cars, they are an advertising medium for the club, you can have as many as you wish, unless of course we have people wanting 10 or more at a time.

I've been looking at the PDF file & I don't think that we can squeeze the EST.1984 onto it, we'd have to make the logo smaller, we cant make the sticker bigger as we did it that size because it fits on the rear of most Guzzi quite nicely, well the earlier models when the stickers were first done.

Zero, we only get them done in bike size.
For a bigger one you'll have to shell out from your own pocket, I can ask Frasers if I know what sort of size.

When we say 400x400 we are talking mm aren't we (still trying to work out where the fark you'd put a 4metre x 4 metre sticker unless you owned a pantec).

ok ,looked at the fridge,
a 400mm long sticker would be fine, the width determined by the actual set out.
looked in the fridge,
buggerall in beer fridge , moving house.
i think I paid $15 for a Moto Guzzi decal at the Laverda concourse.
thats is 200mm x 65mm.
A 400 mm wide will fit across an average fridge with room to spare.
later swagzz

Yes MILLIMETRES are the intended increments of measurement. After 25 years of marriage 150 millimetres sounds better than 6 inches. In saying that, width of 400 mm and whatever the height sound good to me.
In regards to the "Pantec", guess you've never really looked at the front fairing of an 1100 Sport. Some simalarities there, I have been asked for my "Wide Load" permit by the Police when out for a ride.
