Dropped into the Italian Festival at New Farm park this morning and was surprised that I couldn't find any bikes.
Heaps of cars but being MotoGP day I suppose everyone stayed away.
How about next year the club gets some people and bikes there.
I cheated by asking the guys if I could take the guzzi inside where all the stall holders were and the number of people who came up to comment was extraordinary.
Lots of older Italian guys with some exotic machines in their sheds which they have bought dirt cheap and brought over.
As members of the community they should be bringing the out of mothballs

Cheers,
IanB

For those a little newer to the club, we used to hold the meetings at the Italian club & they sort of encouraged us to go elsewhere. The same applied with the All Italian day, they Italian club used to organise it (not sure if they still do), we used to attend every year, but the last few we attended they stuck us down the furthest corner that they could, had the Ferrari & deadcati guys up in a prominent position, my guess is these days the deadcati owners wouldn't attend as they are all the former yuppy owners of hardley's, they're too busy sticking their heads up their collective arses to bother attending something like that.

It is interesting that they would like to see us attend again, maybe they shouldn't have made us feel as 'second class' as they did years ago.

I'm a newcomer to the club, Wal and I thank you for the history lesson. So what you are saying is, "Does the club really need them any more"?

No, I was making the minor point that they made us feel as if they didn't want us around, the deadcati guys are hip, yuppie types whereas us Guzzisti are just 'normal' (but very different), now the yuppie types have gotten bored & couldn't be bothered , they want to know why we don't attend anymore.

They still have our email address & we didn't see an invite, maybe next year they'll contact us or maybe not.

Maybe we could organise a ride to where they're having it next year if we aren't invited.

Hey Septic,

Any chance of busting out of work next Wed - I'm sure the Stelvio could do with a run.
Sunshine coast hinterland (see stray rides for details), so it's up your way.

Cheers,
KAOS
