Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh,
Settle Wal,
Don't say anything.
Me thinks that I have to ban myself for a week or so.

Hi dave, I'm Wal the nice moderator, yes I'm an absolute c#nt, just as Hairee will testify to, but then you have to make allowances as I'm a Cali rider & we are not known for our tact.
Sorry I had better explain,
A Cali is a Moto Guzzi California, it is made in Italy at a little town near Lake Como, as are all Guzzi's.
Moto Guzzi is & has been to date an Italian company owned by Italians.
This forum is run by the Moto Guzzi Club of Queensland, the Moto Guzzi world club affiliated local club.
Hairee is a Breva rider, some say the Breva is a girl's bike, but I beg to dffer, the Breva is a good bike as it stops people buying tosser bikes & therefore becoming a tosser, Hairee is a nice bloke but don't ever tell him that I said that.
One of our Administrators is Mark909, Mark rides a Norge, it's the bike you buy when you want a goldenwing but you have more class than that.
Our other Administrator is Al, Al loves V7's, an older Guzzi, very pretty, they even inspired the Cali so they are not a bad thing to own.

Welcome Dave. You are the second navy type to join here lately. Tryg is also heading back to our part of the world soon, only he is going to Toowoomba.

Be great to catch up for a ride sometime. Maybe we should arrange a forum members ride at some stage?

Wal
Don't you see the possibilities here, you can bring Dave along on rides and show him the light ,
possibly show him an 8V Griso so he will be led away from the path he's chosen .
Hi Dave and welcome , as you may have noticed Wal has no hidden predjudices :o he has them on
display most times but since you ride a V twin and an Italian one I can happily associate with you (drink ,talk shit , ride bikes ) with no problems.
Later swagzz

Hi Dave
Welcome to The Forum.
Mark.....Forum Member's ride is a great idea.
I'm still worried about Wal tho.....he's been saying nice things about Brevas and Breva riders (well, sort of) :?:
BTW I threw a leg over a 1200 Sport the other day, but couldn't bring myself to part with the 750, so it's "No Deal". :?

Hi Dave, welcome (I say that being only a new member myself!)

I will be in Toowoomba very soon (November) ride a lot to Bris-Canungra and Glasshouse Mtns etc, so hope to see you on the twisties.

I have been in Pussers for 19 years, still serve and will be working out of Cabarlah (near Toowoomba) for the next few years.

Hope to see you out there! (PS I hope your Italian mistress is red, like mine!)

Tryg

Dave
See the other thread that you picked up on, I answered your questions about prejudices there.
It's the attitude I have a prob with not the bike, if I had room, the money & could find one, there'd be a MHR in my garage.
I did warn that I can be a little aggravating at times, but you'll always know where ya stand with me.
Now I know ya got thin skin, you'll probably cop a ragging from time to time.
But hey you could always return serve, I'm a stirrer & the best stirrers know how to cop it as well as give it.
I guess it could be worse, you could ride a Breva instead then you'd really cop a ragging (the Wal's being nice to Breva riders month is over Hairee).

swagzz, a Griso?, I'll arrange him a test ride on a real bike, get him on a Cali & he'd be converted to top quality brilliant Italian workmanship at it's finest, I even show him how to fix bikes with a large hammer (something every Cali owner learns sooner or later).

Take the chair off for him first will ya Wal,
I wouldn't want any lane splitting mishaps

Hi Dave,
Have a good time with your new bike!!
In case you haven't heard, I am well versed in the profundities of Who-speak.
In addition, I am the custard tart consultant for the east coat of Queensland.
Apart from that, I'm harmless.
Happy trails

swagzz,
Ya only go to lane split once, when ya ride a chair.
After ya put new tyres on (from the great big f#cking brake lock-up) & go home to change the old jocks (as when ya realise that you're nearly as wide as a car, Instant sh#t oneself), ya don't ever go to do it again.
Just wished I'd had a camera mounted on the bars to see what me face looked like when I nearly made the Cali a solo.
