Alright you lot, been doing a little re-arranging in the garage, looked at the golf clubs that have been sitting collecting dust for the last 10 years, thought to self "self, wonder how many other within the little group play the dreaded stick/ball game & how many like oneself never go as they have no-one to go with".

So would any one be interested in going for a round/ few beers/ natter/ etc. one weekend, should we get enough interested hackers we could even make it a somewhat regular event.

I'm chucking this out now & will be speaking with others, possibly raising this at a club meeting, sex is regardless as I know that Leeanne is a hacker & enjoys digging holes in the ground as well as I do, maybe we could get the girls along as well in groups of 4, chucking abuse/balls/insults & general laughter at each other. Any golfing pro types will have to be suitably handicapped (you know trying an old Guzzi piston to their sticks) as this is more about the social aspect.

I joined the Golf Club a few months ago, but it has 4 wheels and a diesel engine!
Bro-in-law gave up trying to interest me in golf after I put a practice ball through his office window.
This is a great idea tho' Wal.....hope you get some takers.....will let the motorcycling son-in-law know.....I seem to recall he enjoys a round now and then. :salute2:

well as much as it pains me to admit this, I have 2 sets and both of them are handicaps when i use them but i'm up for a bash as long as I'm in wals group.
I won't feel guilty about stealing his balls or pushing them into the water hazards.
later swagzz

So I guess I'll have to start considering some rules for this new sport---'Guzzi Golf'

Ok you lot listen up,

Guzzi golf 1---- A player is permitted ONE club of his/her choosing, as many balls/tees as they wish but only the ONE golf stick for the WHOLE round (the is no substituting/borrowing/trading the selected stick during the round).

Guzzi golf 2---- A group of 4 players shall consist a team, players shall nominate themselves a number (1to4) before play begins, player 1 shall take the first shot of the round, player 2 the second , player 3 the third, player 4 the forth, player 1 the 5th & so forth until the entire round is complete.

Guzzi golf 3---- Is the similar to standard 4 ball but the players play from the worst ball of the 4.

That's it for now, come on you lot, get your names in & more suggestions of Guzzi golf, where mediocrity & fun is the priority.

No, it's designed to bring the 'real' golfers back to the field.

At a bit of a loss as to how to make it less competitive & more fun, maybe replace everybody's ball with one of those holey plastic practice balls.

If Tiger's coming to the golf day, I'm in, but only if I'm on his team!
Re the holey practice balls Wal, it was one of them I put through the bro-in-law's window.
You could try ping-pong balls!!??

Ok been thinking & have come up with another one----

Since most half sets only come with the odd numbered sticks then,
Guzzi golf 4--- A player is only allowed to use odd numbered sticks during the round.

Still like to get some more ideas for ways to take the seriousness out of golf & make the event a bit more fun.

Also start letting me know if you wish to attend the first Guzzi golf day, I will be raising this on Wed night at the club meeting & looking for the first date to be put on the club calender, this is like the club, you don't have to own a Guzzi to attend, just like being around a bunch of people who have a passion for Guzzi's & having a good time.

Okay, the first Guzzi golf day has been set, Sunday the 27th of September, it will happen at Eatons Links golf club, on South Pine (it still maybe called Northern Road there) at Eatons Hills, opposite the Fire station, Mark F tells me the is a big dinosaur outside the vets clinic next door.

Start time is yet to be established, this will depend on numbers & popular consensus.
