Hi :P just checking out if anyone has any good ideas of how to lower the seat height of a Grisso without affecting its performance. I'm only 163 cm short and don't weight much so I have little impact on this machine. I am pursuing the idea of getting a 20 to 25mm gel seat made up for a 1100 Griso I have my eye on. I am in love with the red and silver model - 2007 and pre2007 models. Unfortunately the new 1200 are only in black & white versions - not my colour!
Anyway if you have any ideas or know someone who has done this modification let me know as I'd like to see how it has turned out
Ceers
Tonia :D

I don't know about Gel seats, but a guy on Brissies east called John Moorhouse specialises in motorcycles seats and would be worth talking to. He did a seat for my old BMW R1150GS that was just so damn good. Here is a link to his site http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~maddoggy/

Hope this helps.

I'm sure I saw a new, red 1200 Sport at Tom's earlier in the year.
It looked sensational.
Also, the Moto Guzzi Aust web-site shows a red one.

Bars on the 1200 are a bit of a stretch for the vertically challenged, but there would be a simple way around that I'm sure.

Actually, on that Guzzi/Aprilia test ride day some of us went on last year, the guy from the Gold Coast had different bars on a 1200, I seem to recall, and said they were better than the standard ones.

Griso is fantastic, but I thought the 1200 might be more "tourable".

These bikes are on my "if I could have more than one bike" list, along with a Norge. All red, but maybe a white 8V Griso???

Hey Tonia!!,
Watzamatta, you're taller than me. By at least half an inch! And probably a lot younger, too. I used to ride an R100RT and it had a tall seat, so you probably could too.
I reckon I'd buy the Griso and ride it, before altering anything.
Speaking of performance and altering things, some people have had their suspension Lowered and had no complaints about cornering. Tom would be the one to see about that.
Happy Trails

Hi Tonia
I think you might find the Griso is lower than you think, get some one to set up
the preload on the suspension for the correct amount of sag between unloaded
and loaded before you alter anything.
