G'day all, The name's Bill, ride a V11 Le Mans and live in the weeds, north west of Toowoomba. I recognise several names from the club and other forums. I was a member of the club for a couple of years but I usually re-subscribe at the Budgie. Unfortunately I didn't make it this year as I was pit crewing for son #1 at Morgan Park. I got my licence in SA in 1968 and owned bikes continuously from 1971. I fell in love with the S3 when it was first released but unfortunately I kept my Bavarian Money Waster (which I still have) instead of trading up. The Le Mans is my first Guzzi. I'm a member of several forums including Guzzi Exchange and Squadra Guzzista. I've attended about half a dozen Budgies and my first Ragged Fringe a few weeks ago. Didn't realise you had the forum up and running until Tryg let me know today. Looks great. Cheers Bill

Welcome Bill. It seems there is quite the Guzzi community up Toowoomba way, gives the place a bit of class. We've had the forum online for a while now and it is starting to see more activity now. I keep messing with it and changing things, hopefully for the better. Hope you enjoy being here.

Yes, the Toowoomba-ites are taking over, and it's good to see plenty of regular posts. I've been in Townsville for a couple of days, and didn't log in until now....I like the spiffy new pics on the catgories, Mark, and there's a new category for small block Guzzis I see. Interesting....... We really must do a ride to meet up with Forum people. Murphy's Creek railway station then on elsewhere?

Hi Oz, Pleased to meet you. Seems to be more and more Guzzisti rocking up to the forum than ever. That makes it even more interesting. Is Murphy's Creek in your neck of the woods? I've never heard of it. Bill

The dalek badge on my jacket (usually only aimed at offensively behaving 4 wheel-drivers and their ilk.....EXTERMINATE!), has been looking a bit weird this week....maybe it's my imagination, but then it could have been a conspiracy involving ABC Shops, to get daleks into unsuspecting homes around the country???? I see they sell sonic screwdrivers as well though. Might have to get one, ready for Sunday night! Can never be too careful when there's a dalek involved. I definitely need to get out more.....but not Sunday night.

Murphy's Creek is just down the bottom of the range below Toowoomba. There is a very interesting loop from Brisbane, to Toowoomba, via Murphy's Creek then to Hampton, Esk and back to the Western side of Brisbane. It has lots of nice twisties and we (Bill, GOD and I) would love to show you all sometime....
BTW, Welcome Bill. Soon we will rule the world from Poowoomba!

A spot of morning or afternoon tea, wot say you chaps, at Murphy's Creek station? Then pip-pip, onwards and upwards! Jolly good, whot-ho. I lived in Toowoomba for a short spell....late '70's into the early '80's, before moving to Tasmania for many years. Does that road go up through Spring Bluff? Perhaps that is where I am thinking of for the tea break???? Picnic grounds and Devonshire Teas in the station??? I remember riding that way and walking along the railway line to check out a tunnel, a bit closer to T'wmba somewhere. It's a long time ago

Hairee, I can see you champing at the bit for this one. And why not? A good ride combined with a degustation tour is the stuff dreams are made of. Not to mention meeting some new Guzzisti and their bikes !! I hope they do it later rather than sooner, because I'm going for a big phatt ride to nsw, next week. That is I hope it happens after my return, because I wouldn't like to miss out. But if I do, have a very good time !! Bill

Hi Bill (that's Bill Bill, not ozstrider23 Bill ) Yes I'd like to do this ride, but you should be ok to come along as I think we're waiting for Tryg to arrive in Toowoomba (next month was it??). And that certain Griso rider has to be available to come down from Mackay....should be enough pubs at least 200km apart between there and Twmba The Toowoomba-ites might even know a good custard tart shop up that way. Have a good ride to NSW.

Guys, I am pulling into town early November. I was thinking of a ride over the period 16 Dec 08 - 16 Jan 09... remembering that it can be anytime, but over this time might be a good opportunity for an overnighter. I promise that all the nice stuff is still around Toowoomba, plus several range rides that have the essential twists without much traffic. The DMCSC ( www.dmcsc.org.au) is a great club full of great people. Among the people in the club, OZstrider (aka Bill Howard) and GOD (Gordon O'Donohoe) are members, distinguished Guzzisti both... Luckily Bill's son is the President, so we will have a place to utilise for BBQ, overnighting (should you need it) and a really nicely stocked bar at rediculously well-adjusted prices! I will keep all updated, looks like a promising get-together! The 'Day of the Gaggle'.

Dec/Jan sounds good to me Tryg. Can't speak for others of course, but there should be a few interested in a day trip at least, around then, I'm sure. Bill-Bill will be happy to hear that time-frame I hope. Cheers
