I can't stand seeing those two zeros, (for no posts in this category), so here's a hint, or is it a tip, or one of each?
Check your tyres on a regular basis, and Bridgestones seem to work best on a Breva 750.

i like the older style of tyre on the V7.

Metzler Perfect ME77 on the rear at $100 a throw
Metzler Lasertec 110/90 on the front

Bridgestones go out of shape on the front and wabble but good a 120/90 is as good as gold on the rear.

Well I guess the older style of tyre should suit the oldest rider and 'bike combo @ the rally!

I've only tried Pirellis and B'stones on the Breva, but much prefer the feel of the latter on the front when cornering......more progressive or something....the Pirelli wanted to tip me further and sooner than I wanted to go....the B'stone seems to take orders from me, rather than the other way around.
Longevity, or otherwise, seems about the same with both brands....15K for the back, with a lot of country riding (I don't commute), and the front Pirelli had heaps of tread left at more than 20K but I started getting the wobbles at 60-80 km/hr. Instant fix with a new front.

Any 750 Breva riders reading this....there's a great French web-site just for us, with a discussion on, amongst other things, tyres.
If you have high school French it's fathomable.
Lots of pics, ideas, links, stories etc.
However the last couple of times I went there, my anti-virus found some nasties, so I'm steering clear for a while.....if you want to try/risk going there, I can dig out the address for you.

Cheers
Hairee

Here is my two bobs worth,
As mentioned by Al, the Metzy's seem to be one of the best around in the conventional type (read non-radial) tyre, I am yet to here anyone complain too much, so it appears they are worth a go.
In the radial type tyres, there seems to be two types around, the ones that hang on like **** to a blanket until they let go, which appears to be most of the major brands.
The second type, the Bridgies (my personal choice) & I'm informed the Contis, they seem to slide a lot easier, but it seems to be easily controllable. Some people do not like the feeling of the tyre moving around underneath them (that is the sensation that you get) but if you are confident in your bike handling, then they are well worth a go.
It's all only my opinion, I guess you could try what's around & see which ones suit you best.

Stay safe,

M's little Monza goes like the clappers on Bridgies.

There is a bend just after Jollies lookout that twists down the other side. Took it at 120kms on the Monza. Scared the living crappers out of me as I didn't think the little thing could go so fast and it didn't slip or slide just sent shit loads of sparks out the side as the gear lever scraped on the bitumen with my knee tucked up on the tank as there wasn't any room on the foot peg any more.

I don't go that fast anymore. Quite happy to sit on the v7 and watch the world go by slowly. No need for nappys either.

True fact.

Well this is true, and the "Bridgies" last a lot longer.

I've got Bridgstones on the Le mans mk V, no complaints about them however I want to try some Avon's venom X's on it next. I had them on my last bike & loved them. Has anyone tried them on a Guzzi?
